Otterbox : Media Event & Fashion Week

I'm pretty far behind on posting photos and I need to make more an effort to change that and update it more regularly. With that said, I'd like to share a couple of events I've shot for a wonderful PR Company, Access Communications, and their client which some of you may be familiar with, Otterbox. I was fortunately enough shoot their Media Event at The Glasshouses, an amazing space with floor to ceiling windows that fill the entire room with beautiful natural light.  I hung back and took mostly candid interactions as well as a few product shots that were displayed throughout the room followed by a Step & Repeat wall for guest leaving with their bags of goodies.

Less than 2 weeks after the Media Event shoot, I received an e-mail asking me to photograph a Runway show during NYC's Fashion Week as a model walked in a dress made out of Otterbox Screen Protectors. Aside from photographing the wonderful team from Access interacting with the attendees, I was thrown into the belly of the photog-pit, an eye opening experience to say the least. If you've never shot from a pit, let me just say that you need to expect the unexpected: everything from the friendliest photographers to the meanest, most vulgar and one with the worst case of B O I've ever experienced in my time on this planet. I'm still fully convinced that he used his stench as a way to get more free space around him (oh the lengths people will go)

Melanie & Tommy : Coney Island : Engagement

Start with two awesome people with great attitude, sprinkle in a bit of beautiful weather, mix in with a great challenging location and you get one awesome engagement shoot.

Melanie & Tommy picked Coney Island for their engagement shoot because it's always been one of their favorite places, as I'm sure it is for many of you. I knew the location would be fun and gorgeous but going there in the middle of the day in June created it's own challenge: so, many, people! We decided to get creative, using everything from different camera angles, to stopping foot traffic at bar's staircase, to high-jacking murals & carnival rides to serve as our backdrops. Melanie & Tommy, thank you guys for letting me be part of this special day and I'm super stoked to photograph your wedding in a few months!

Brittney and Kevin : Anniversary : Bryant Park Hotel

Remember when I told you that Brittney and Kevin are awesome? They've proved it once again when they invited me to take some photos of them for their one year anniversary at the Bryant Park Hotel. We had a plan to take some shots in the room and then head out into the park to shoot in the basking evening sunlight before their dinner date. Unfortunately, or fortunately rather, after a hotel screw-up, they were upgraded to the penthouse suite with floor to ceiling windows on three of the walls. The massive open space combined with the changing light casting wonderful shadows and their ability to go from being serious and taking direction to being themselves and having just oodles of fun with each other like no one is looking allowed us to play around with different moods and environments that we felt there was no need to leave the space. Hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
